STORY BOX & DESNA WHAANGA-SCHOLLUM
Pou Rama will be installed at Waitemata Plaza at the Viaduct for Bright Nights from 11th to 13th May . Designed by Storybox in collaboration with visual artist Desna Whaanga-Schollum (Rongomaiwahine, Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāti Pahauwera), Pou Rama (Light Posts), features a series of free-standing light structures. These are inspired by pouwhenua (land symbols of support), and represent creative wairua (inspiration) which is generated from te taiao (the environment). The Whakairo designs express cycles of creativity, and connections to place.
